Surface Preservation and Seal Integrity
Platinum cured medical silicone has a non-porous surface. Microorganisms cannot penetrate the cured matrix. However, oils, residue, and dead skin cells collect on the exterior during use. Washing the device restores the surface. The internal ABS polymer core houses the motor and battery. The silicone envelope forms a mechanical gasket over this core. Using incorrect cleaning agents degrades this seal and allows liquid to enter the chassis.
Washing Routine
Wash the unit immediately after use. Warm tap water and mild unscented hand soap remove organic residue effectively. Avoid boiling water, which can soften adhesive seals around charging ports.
- Lather: Apply plain liquid soap with your hands. Do not scrub with abrasive pads or stiff brushes.
- Rinse: Rinse thoroughly under running water to remove all surfactant residue.
- Drying: Pat dry with a lint-free towel and store in open air until moisture evaporates completely.
Chemicals to Avoid
Never clean silicone tools with alcohol, acetone, or bleach. These solvents strip the silicone surface and make it chalky. Avoid silicone-based sprays and wipes. Store the clean, dry device inside a breathable cotton bag. Do not store two silicone products touching each other, as prolonged contact can cause surface bonding.
