Verification of Topical Lipid Purity
Topical intimate oils must protect the epidermal barrier without disrupting natural microflora. We use two raw materials: cold-pressed golden jojoba oil and plant squalane derived from olives. Jojoba is a liquid wax ester rather than a triglyceride. It matches human sebum in chain length. Plant squalane is a fully saturated hydrocarbon derived by hydrogenating squalene. Squalane does not oxidize under ambient light or heat.
Laboratory Bench Testing
Every barrel of raw lipid undergoes gas chromatography and peroxide value testing before bottling. Peroxide value measures the extent of rancidity or lipid breakdown. Fresh oils show low peroxide figures. Oxidized oils contain free radicals that inflame mucosal tissue.
- Peroxide audit: Batches must show peroxide values below five milliequivalents per kilogram before processing.
- Botanical source verification: Gas chromatography verifies that squalane originates from olive oil rather than animal sources or petroleum fractions.
- Moisture check: Water content is measured by titration. Water promotes microbial growth in preservative-free oil formulations.
Performance on Delicate Skin
Liquid wax esters create a breathable barrier. They reduce friction without forming an occlusive, pore-clogging film. Plant squalane absorbs rapidly into the stratum corneum. It leaves no heavy residue. Applying tested, single-source lipids minimizes skin irritation during intimate touch.
